Hear, Hear! Hear? Hear what? The Rumble. A.K.A. The 2007 Camaro.

"August 27, 2002 marked the end of an era for both fans of General Motors and muscle car enthusiasts alike. On that day at the General Motors plant in St. Therese, Canada, the last of the Chevrolet Camaro's rolled off the assembly line. This final red pony car did not just mark the end of a model name, but the end of 35 years of performance tradition. Almost instantly, the public outcry over this decision was heard from enthusiast forums, all the way to international press. This outcry was met with rumors of a new Camaro and pinned to those rumors were sometimes crude drawings of what people hoped or dreamed that this new Camaro would look like, but nothing official was ever issued to support the rumors or artists renderings. It was just over three years from the day of the last Camaro produced when the rumors began flying once again of a new Camaro, and this time, there was some backing from GM about these rumors when they announced that the Chevrolet Camaro Concept would makes its world debut at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Then, on the day before the opening of the Detroit Auto Show, vice chairman of General Motors Bob Lutz drove the silver concept into the display area designated for this new pony car, with hundreds on VIP Camaro enthusiasts on hand as the massive LCD screen backdrop flashed the Camaro name, followed by the current Chevrolet slogan...An American Revolution. The crowd was hushed by the sound of the 400hp LS2 V8 as it made its way to the platform and although ear plugs were offered, few were used as onlookers stared in awe as the Camaro was finally made official."

Suspicious Looking Device

Today's Post is about The Suspicious Looking Device. Otherwise known as The SLD. That's it. You can see it here.

As it says from the website:

Sweet Car Update 8: (Aston Martin V12 Vanquish)

You've always wanted a cool car... but how about that has a 6.0-liter, twin overhead cam V12 that makes 450 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 400 lb.-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission that’s a clutchless manual, given the required driver input. Of course, you can just slide the shifter and not worry about it, as well. Acceleration times come in at 4.5 seconds to 60 mph and a flat 10 seconds to 100 mph. That’ll burn up those 19-inch tires, to be sure, especially given the Vanquish’s rigid and lightweight aluminum frame.

This post gives new meaning to my title: "Aspire to Something Higher"... We are Aspiring higher. The new Freedom Tower is going to be the tallest tower in America. You can check out the article here. According to the article The Tower will be symbolic of the Declaration of Independence and will be 1,776 feet tall; taller than the Empire State Building. It is hoped to be done by the year 2010.

"The tower is planned as a symbol of New York's revitalization after the September 11 attacks in 2001, which claimed more than 2,700 lives at the World Trade Center."

I know this post has a different theme than my other ones. I saw the article about the tower and thought I would make a post about it...

Sweet Car Update 7 - (Chrysler Atlantic)

Can you say "Goborien"? How would you describe this car? I couldn't find any good pictures of it! All of the pictures look like junk! Anyway! About the car... The Chrysler Atlantic Concept Car. I kind of couldn't decide whither to put this into a "Sweet Car Update" or a "Ugly Car Update"... So I just decided to do one of the two. (Ha! It was a fifty-fifty chance anyway! That was really kind of dumb to say that: "I just decided to put it in one of the two." because I would have to put it in one of them anyway! Unless I made a "Can't Decide Car Update" which would be silly! Ha, ha!... That's not very funny. Enough digressing!...) About the car:

"It rides on 21 wheels in front and 22 in the back, Power is provided by a 4.0 liter straight eight which consists of two 2.0 liter Neon 4 cylinder blocks arranged nose-to-tail. While its styling is an obvious blend of old and new, its list of features is cutting edge. Brakes are four-wheel discs with ABS. The transmission is automatic with Auto-Stick. Neon lighting is used for brake lights, CHMSL, and interior dome lighting."

Not very impressive eh? Well... I just got it for the looks. Actually I think it looks like a Souped-up Cruella-da-ville car... I have calender with a really awesome picture of it and that is why I decided to make a post about it in this blog.

Here is my opinion of it (In short words): Nice look, slick, portable, cool... but... (Why is there always a "but"? Why is there never just a nice review? Why? Huh?...) IT is a Dell. I don't especially trust them. Don't ask me why! I just... don't. I have to give them the credit for the looks though. Oh yea! One more thing! The price on this thing starts, mind you, starts, at $3500. I'll leave that up to you to decide if that's expensive or not... Stay tuned.

My post a while back about the Dell Renagade was nice... But in comparison to this post's PC it's a gnat versus a rhinoceros: The Voodoo Elementals Omen = Killer.

Well... It doesn't look quite as threatening as the Renagade but hey, you have to admit that with a Omen Gold plated Alure finish it is cool. But it's the specs that make it the true PC killer that it is:

The Palm TX

I am now the proud owner of a brand-new Palm TX - Palm's newest handheld to date! (By "handheld" I mean "handheld", not "smartphone"...) And boy... Is it gorgeous! I love it! You can do pretty much anything with it! With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 320x480 screen (A little more than two times as big as an iPod's screen!), 128 MB of internal memory, a long battery life, a headphone jack and a built-in speaker (Which sound surprisingly good for a built-in), a nice bunch of bundled software like Documents-to-go, Addit, Pocket tunes... etc... And it is all in a small, slim handheld that only weighs 5.25 ounces! Check it out here and here! Or read a review of it here and here! (Wow! That's a lot of links!) Stay tuned for updates on what I have done with it or what cool accesories I have found for it.

My advice to all of you is: Get yo own!

I promised to tell you about Dell and Alienware, and right now I'm fulfilling that promise... well... sort of. I don't have much to say except:

I hate that!!! Alienware is a high-end gaming PC company and shouldn't let it self get snapped up by a rotten cheap PC maker!

I'll be reasonable now. I do not like the idea of buying a high-end alienware and knowing that it is really owned by a... I'll end it there. Here's an article about it. What's you opinion?

Everybody knows what -or who- Dell is. Right? Right. Now, more Q&A: Did you know that Dell is going for big-time gaming? I thought so. You didn't. Well... They are. And I don't know about them... I mean, Dell... And Gaming?...

Here's the scoop -or the specs- of the all-new Dell XPS 600 RENEGADE:

I said I wouldn't rant and rave about Apple anymore but... I am. Again. I can't believe it... This is crazy... but I am!

I mean, how many other "iPod playing stereos" are there that probably sound just as good that cost less than $100!? And you're willing to spend $350 for one that says "Apple" on it! Okay, I haven't posted a "Sweet Car Update" for a while so I'm doing one now... The car today is the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. (That's a long name!) I think it's rock'in sweet! (Note: This is not a concept car! That means you could actually see it driving around on the streets! You would have to be pretty lucky to see one though...)

Apples are Apples (But this is too much!)

Okay, yes I know that I have been doing a lot of posts on Apples but I just have to do one more. Here we go... (I hope you don't mind a little ranting and raving)

Everybody knows Apple and everybody wants Apple and everybody thinks Apple is very innovative and everybody likes it when they come out with a new awesome product (wow... That's a lot of "everybodys"!) but this time I think they (Apple) have just gone weird and over done it. (For once) This is the first time I've ever complained about Apple and hopefully it will be the last... The new Apple iPod case is going too far. (See below)

Yes, it looks cool and yes, it does have a big Apple on it and yes, it is leather and yes, is does say iPod... (That's a lot of "and yes's") but all of that sours when you look at the price tag: $99. "Apple! What's wrong with you? Don't you know that you can get much better (protective, usable and handier) cases for much less?" (Like $20 - $50!) I don't know... Some of you may be willing to spend that much for a case that says "Apple iPod" on it but I sure wouldn't!

I rest my case... (Pun intended) "Till some other more opportune moment..."

(Note: It is a rumor and has no sure output so don't take it too seriously) By the way, I highly recommend brighthand, it is a very clear and clean reviewing website. I really like it. Small is Beautiful... (Especially When it's Supercharged!)

They've done it. Apple's Mac Mini is now Intel based. You can't buy Power-PC based Mac Minis any more. (I'm good... I don't want Power PC any more then you do... :-) These new Minis are selling for almost the same price as the old Power-PC ones! (Actually they are $100 more than the previous models but I think it is because they have higher-on-average specs then the older Minis)

It's Not "Smarty-Pants!" Any More

It's old school lingo to call things "Smarty-Pants" now. The newest lingo today is "Smart-Board"... That just it. The all new "smart-board" technology makes it possible for you to use both hands, all ten fingers and your head at once!... Well... Not quite your head. Check it out!

Isn't that just cool? I know you've seen your touchpads on laptops and you've seen little touch screens on PDAs that you use a stylus for and you've even seen some sweet GPS touch screens in cars and other things... But there is one thing in common with all these things... Can you guess? They all have to have only one touch at once or else they don't respond to the other touches!... Hummm... Pretty weird huh? It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a... Vertical Mouse?

That's just it. A vertical mouse. Boy, but that looks weird! Have you ever actually seen one of those? Me neither.

Nintendo's DS on a Diet

The all new Nintendo DS Lite is what most of us would call... well... light... smaller... on a diet. Actually the "new Nintendo DS Lite skimps on the size and weight by shaving off 1/3rd of the bulk and 20-percent of the weight, and will apparently be released in Japan on March 2nd for about $145." If you were previously planning to get the original DS you should wait and get this one instead. (Oh yeah, one more thing: The new DS will probably be able to play videos and a bunch of other stuff!) Palm OS Vs. Windows Mobile

Here we have yet another "something vs. something" post. I like doing these types because it helps me convince myself that I really do like one better than the other... :-) The specific post is about handhelds and which is better. "So it begins..."

(You will notice that I am specifically comparing the Palm TX and the Dell Axim X50 in this post)

The Bottom Line:

I think that after all this comparing that I like the Palm TX the best. (Of course, my opinion is subject to change unexpectedly... stay tuned for further updates...)

I seriously wonder if the "all-new-fangled" Microsoft Vista will be all that great... If you're a big Microsoft fan you would say: "Of course it will be great! It's the latest-greatest Microsoft "innovation!" (Har. Har.) If you happen to be a Apple-lover (like me...) you will get a smug look on your face and say: "It won't work. It's Microsoft. (They stink.)" If you are a Linux (LINux!) user you probably won't care worth a tin can and a pig nose. I'm sure that the newest Microsoft OS will look nice and maybe be slightly better that XP but so what? Apple has had that + innovation since 1812!!! Well... not quite. Windows is finally doing 64-bit OS! But again, Apple has had 128-bit since 1812 also. Smelly Gates. (No offence to Microsoft) Dominators!!! (Again no offence) I rest my case. (For now!...)

The whole wide world wouldn't... Anyway! Back to thee car. It's the Gibbs Aquada. And yes, what you see is true. It IS driving on water and yes, it does seem an awful lot like Herbie but... we won't go there. I think it's "Killo dude..." It's almost like the movies! Well... it is. Wouldn't it be cool to have a car that can drive on water? I didn't think so-I mean!-I thought so. Stay ituned... ;-}

iMac x 2 = Power

Do the math. iMac x 2 = Power. Simple mathematics. The new iMac Core Duo has an Intel dual core processor that gives it much more power and compatibility that the previous iMac G5.

I'm Googling at the Earth!

Google Earth. The Power of It. It's pretty cool. Some of it's features include: fully rotatable and zoomable angle view controls, 3D buildings in major cites, searching for any address anywhere, settings to show roads, restaurants, hotels and everything else you can think of. The whole interface is slick and easy to use. There is only one problem I can think of about it, and that's that you have to have a pretty fast internet connection to run it. That's not really a big problem but its kind of unfair to all those "old school" dial up modem people... :-)

Overall its really nice and is very educational as well as useful. 6 stars!

Ugly Car Update 1

Okay... Yes I know that I just barely did an "Ugly Car Update" but I just had to put this one with the synUS... Here we go...

Here you see the Chevrolet HHR. It looks a lot like a PT Cruiser in my opinion... I think it's ugly. That's all I have to say about it.

I guess it might look slightly cool...

Well... here we go. I'm starting the Ugly Car Updates! To start us off we have the Ford SynUS. UUGGLLYY!!! That is as ugly as they get! At first I thought that you pronounced the name "sI-nes" (like the nasal thing) but then I found out that you pronounce it... well, just keep reading:

"At a 2005 car show, the Ford SynUS (pronounced "sin-you-ehs") concept car fell into three categories. Picture a blend of a bank vault, an armored car and a compact car, and you'll get a pretty good image of the SynUS. Critics covering the show called it everything from "silly" to "hideous," but not many cars can carry your groceries and deflect wayward bullets like this one can."

It might look cool to some of you weirdos but I think it looks pretty ugly...

Google Desktop Vs. Copernic Desktop Search: The Face Off

In this post I will be comparing Copernic Desktop Search (CDS) and Google Desktop (GD). (Please note: Most comparisons are totally my opinion. But some of the comparisons are based on actual information that I got from other sources.)

So it begins...

VS.

The pros and cons of GD:

Pros:

Fast, quick, finds what you want (most of the time)
The sidebar looks cool
It's Google

Cons:

Uses a browser window to display your search results
It's a security nightmare! (For more information look here and here)
The browser window that display search results looks ugly! (in my opinion)

The pro and cons of CDS:

Pros:

Searches wherever you want on your desktop without accessing the web (Unless you want it to)
You can refine your search to file sizes, types, date made, folder that it's in and a bunch of other stuff.
You can schedule updates to your index for whenever you want them.
It looks cool

Cons:

No big added features (such as GD's sidebar)

The Verdict:

Both programs are totally free so you can't go wrong with either of them (You're not going to lose anything if you just try them).

I know that I'm not the supreem power of deciding but I have decided that I like Copernic Desktop Search better. Why? I just do.

Sweet Car Update 3

"Next up, we have... (sound of jaw hitting the floor)... (sound of jaw being picked up and put back on)... wow... what... what is that?"

It's the Jeep -(Yes I know, I just barely did another jeep but I thought this one was really cool. I guess I think they're all cool and that's why I post them here! I wouldn't post them if I didn't think they were cool! Maybe I should start a "Ugly Car Update"... That's not a bad idea...)- Anyway! This car is The Jeep Gladiator. One of the most cool trucks I have ever seen!

I just barely got Google Desktop to work on my computer! It's a Desktop searching program that is pretty sweet! (If you can get it to work) I was having problems getting it to work and I found out that it is because I have two users on my computer and it doesn't support two users. But other than that it's really nice! With it's nifty sidebar that you can put customizable panels on. The panels include email, news, photos, maps and a bigillion other things. And-of course-you can search your own computer for files, music, pictures and other such stuff.

The bottom line: Google Desktop is a...well...a desktop searching program. It's good.

(Maybe some other time I'll do a Copernic Desktop Search versus Google Desktop test to decide which is better...) Stay iTuned!

Sweet Car Update 2

You see it. The Jeep Hurricane.
Here is something that I found about it:

With more than 14 inches (36 cm) of ground clearance and 20 inches (51 cm) of suspension travel, the Hurricane is in a class of its own when it comes to off-road capability. As Zetsche said at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, "To put that into perspective, the clearance is 5 inches higher and the articulation is almost triple that of our most off-road-capable Jeep production vehicle."

The four-wheel independent short/long-arm suspension system is dampened by coilover shocks with remote reservoirs (this allows for longer travel in the shock). The 20-inch wheels hold specially designed off-roading tires that are 37 inches tall. Chrysler reports an approach angle of 64 degrees and a departure angle of 86.7 degrees.

The Hurricane is more than just a Super Jeep. It also represents an attempt by Chrysler's engineers to combine excess (it does have two HEMI engines) with responsibility (new technology allows the Hurricane to operate on as few as four cylinders).

It's pretty awesome. With two HEMI engines, it has a total of 670 horsepower and 740 lb-ft of torque. Powerful... That's all I have to say. Especially when it can move sideways, diagonally and do a 360 degree turn on a dime.

I just started using iTunes... wow. It took a little organizing but after I did that-Poof!-It's a lot better than WMP (Windows Media Player) 10!... WMP 10 is a lot better than WMP 9; It has a lot of improvements but-as always-Apple is a lot ahead of Microsoft. The whole interface of iTunes is better: The way you import music, the way you organize your music and most of all, the way you play your music! The visualizer is also a really sweet bonus (It is totally random, unlike WMP...) The iTunes window even looks better than that of WMP, with it's sleek silver look and its sweet icon (above).

The moral of the story is: "Switch over to Gei-iTunes now!"

Narnia, and the North!

Yes, I just went and saw it. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe." It is pretty sweet. I would tell you the whole storyline and what happens but that would be giving it away and you should go see it to get the full impression. I will tell you this though: It follows the story line of the actual book by C. S. Lewis about 90% of the time! Which is really good for a movie. It also helps that the book is really good and has a good moral to the whole story. I can't wait for them to make the rest of the seven-book series!...

"...Lucy and Susan watch as hundreds of monstrous creatures surround Aslan and the Stone Table. These are horrible creatures from mythology and the darkest realms of the imagination. At the center of these awful creatures is the Witch. The Witch expects Aslan's arrival, and she tells her servants to tie him up. I have here a picture that I made with The Gimp. "What is The Gimp?" you say? To put it nicely: It is about the best photo-editing software that you can get for free. You can do a bigilion things to your photos including: adding layers, adding filters, animating your photos (such as ripples etc.) and a million drawing things. You can also do fractals, which are really cool/weird "imagination" pictures.

I like it.

(This picture is called: "The Stains of Time." I actually made it in about 5 minutes. It displays some of the cool things you can do with The Gimp.)

Yes... That's it. The Chrysler ME Four-Twelve. Ahhhh... Sweet!!! I think that it is one of my favorite cars! Here is what one website had to say about it:

Quickie Summary of Shakespeare's Julius Cesar

Well. That's about all I have to say about it. In a miniature nutshell: Everybody kills themselves except for Cesar; the people that kill themselves kill him first. There are no "good guys" and there is also no "hero". The storyline is about as complicated as mush. "New play please!" That was not one of the plays that I was planning on doing for my 17 Shakespeare plays. But we had it from the library and I was almost done so I decided to do it anyway I don't need to do it again. I think it is okay for you to read it once but I wouldn't recommend reading it 37 times

I have been doing a lot of Shakespeare lately because I have to do it for a class that I have. In the last two weeks I have read/watched/listened to 16 of Shakespeare's plays!
